he Bacchanalia were Roman festivals of Bacchus, the Greco-Roman god of wine, freedom, intoxication and ecstasy. This vintage bronze was made in the second half of the 20th century after the original bronze by the French sculptor Clodion (1738-1814)..The bronze is 22 1/2" tall and is attached to a marble base 11" in diameter.. The bronze depicts 2 women revellers or dancers with a tambourine and a satyr at their feet. This is a classic sculpture -perfect for the fun loving wine connoisseur!
